GBC will consider applications for grants of up to £250 for local East Glamorgan organisations. Please consider the following additional information before applying.
We are looking for projects that will benefit birds or birding in East Glamorgan:
- projects which record and monitor birds or take practical action to manage habitat for birdlife, for example clearing litter, making bird boxes or removing invasive species.
- Projects must be of direct/indirect benefit to birds that are red or amber listed and occur in East Glamorgan.
- We are particularly keen to support projects delivered in partnership with other groups and where funding from other sources is, or is planned to be, in place.
- The level of such funding, relative to the amount sought from GBC, will be a key factor in determining award of financial support.
- Payment is in arrears. Please note that we are unable to pay in advance of works. Proof of expenditure will be required prior to the payment of a grant.
- Successful applicants will be required to acknowledge the funding using the wording: ‘This project was funded/part-funded by Glamorgan Bird Club’.
During the year a GBC sub-group composed of the treasurer and two trustees passes on to all GBC trustees the details of, and their recommendations on, any applications meeting the above criteria. At a committee meeting trustees will then consider the sub-group recommendations and either approve or reject each
application on its merits. The sub-group will inform the applicant of the trustees’ decision and the treasurer will arrange payments as required.
